Humaira Shaikh, Farooq Shaikh, and their son Farooq Shaikh booked them on the Seville plane from Stansted Airport. They were eager for their autumn getaway. They were disappointed to find out that they boarded the wrong flight, and ended up traveling 1,200 miles the wrong way.
They later discovered that the cabin crews didn’t announce the destination of the flight because it was too late to leave the UK.
Humaira & Farooq had to make a decision: Either wait for the next direct flight, in 4 days, or travel multi-stop, including layovers. This would have increased the trip’s length.
The couple were left to foot the bill, around £1,100, for the remainder of their Greek holiday after choosing to wait for the direct journey home.
The problem was that they hadn’t been properly registered with Ryanair. Only one staff member recognized them in time.

He has also been frustrated after the trip cost him £1,100, with Ryanair refusing to process a refund for the hotels and tours in Seville that his parents never got to enjoy.
Ryanair emails to the couple claimed that signposts for flights were clearly identifiable and screens displayed flight number and destination.
Ryanair was contacted to comment.
According to the pair, Ryanair staff at Zakynthos Airport made fun of them and offered them a night free at a hotel nearby. This was despite their next flight home being delayed by four days.
