Her Heart For A Compass is The Duchess, which draws upon Sarah’s journey in life and incorporates research into her family history.
Marguerite Kaye wrote the novel with her. Kaye has over 50 historical romances.
However, it received mostly negative reviews in the press after hitting the shelves in August.
The book was criticized by critics as ‘boring’, a slog and lacking sex. It also featured an ill-informed main character and a voice that oscillates between contemporary and archaic. Almost all commented on the lack of sex and said it was at the ‘PG end’ of Mills & Boon.
Sarah stated that she was ‘unified’ behind the project with Margarete Kaye (co-author) at the time. Margarete has more than 60 books.
In 2022, she will publish her second romance historical novel. This book will be written with Kaye.
