Shirley Ballas revealed how she used to go to great lengths to improve her self-confidence, including losing fat from her legs and getting a boob job.
The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 61, spoke candidly with Prima about trying ‘all sorts’ such as having a breast enlargement to try and save her marriage, before realising that she was ‘doing it for the wrong reasons’.
She also spoke out about her blooming relationship with Danny Taylor, a 49-year-old toyboy, in an interview.
Honest: Shirley Ballas is open about the things she did in her past to improve her self-confidence. She had fat removed from her legs, arms and legs.
The publication asked her about her self-confidence issues. She said that she has struggled all of her life with low self-esteem. To feel confident, I have tried everything.
“I straightened my teeth and had the fat from my arms and legs drained. It was a mistake that I made.
“You must first love yourself,” she said. It’s what I want to tell every woman.

In 2019 Shirley warned women to avoid boob jobs after she underwent a gruelling procedure to have her DD breast implants removed following a cancer scare.
For her natural Acup, she had to undergo a 4-and-a-half hour procedure.
In an interview afterwards Shirley urged women to do their research before having the procedure and admitted that she thought her ex-husband, Corky, who she split from in 2007, would find her ‘more desirable’ if she had the DD implants.

Shirley said to The Sun, “Do your research on the implants. I did not do mine. I thought if I put them in I’d look better and my husband would think of me as more desirable.
‘I made this choice many years ago not understanding what I was really doing, except telling myself I didn’t look good enough.’
Shirley went onto explain that she spent a gruelling four-and-a-half-hours under the knife having her implants removed, and said she was happy that she’s reverted back to her natural size.

She also spoke with Prima Shirley about her relationship to Danny, whom she first met in Darlington at Jack And The Beanstalk pantomime rehearsals in 2018.
She stated, “My relationship has transformed my life. He’s so different than anyone else I’ve ever been to.
“First, he is 6ft1in tall, the tallest man that I have ever been with, and his hair is jet-black. He’s also very kind and very caring – he’s always there for me.
“I really hope that he will propose, but he hasn’t married yet and I believe he’s nervous. We’ll just have to wait to see. Come on, Danny!’

Shirley has previously spoken about Danny being fully supportive of her decision to have her breast implants removed to significantly reduce her chances of having breast cancer.
Last year, she said that he was a huge support. He was a huge support throughout the entire journey.
“It was a difficult decision and took me several years to reach that conclusion. This is definitely something that runs through our family.
“This is the first time I’ve not been sick since winter began. They were separated, and I decided to take them out. Their separation was painful, their bodies were heavy, they didn’t feel comfortable.
Shirley was asked whether her return to her chest size had affected her confidence. She said that although she has always been insecure about her curves and feels more happy than ever.
She stated, “I think that you cannot always follow what you see.” My whole life I struggled with problems related to my body. As far back as I can recall. I am a curver. I am not slender.

With Prima Shirley also touched on this years series of Strictly: ‘I’m learning to be myself more on the show.
“That’s what Mark my son told me. They can tell when you’re guarded. It’s obvious to them, and they can see through it.
Shirley is mother to Mark, 35, from her marriage to ex-husband Corky Ballas.
She also discussed going for her goals and focusing on her career, saying: ‘I felt very alone in the past. As a way to cope with the loss of my career, I built a wall around myself and drowned out all negative voices.
‘I don’t think that’s a very healthy thing to do – it definitely had an effect on both my marriage and my friendships’.
