A shocking video captures paragliders collide mid-air and plunge to the sea in front gasping spectators during Turkish Air Games Festival. Two people were taken to hospital.

Two paragliders collided mid-air and fell into the sea in Oludeiz in Turkey. This horrifying footage was captured by Oludeiz’s emergency crew.

The terrifying incident occurred during the Turkish air games festival – an Olympic-style event for aerial activities including, parachuting, paragliding and skydiving. 

The two gliders collided in an event on Sunday. They became tangled in midair and then plunged into the sea.

The video shows the pair hitting the water at high speed, much to the amazement of the crowd.

You can see emergency services tending to the gliders, who were rescued from the water by stretchers. Their condition remains unknown. 

Local broadcaster Mugla TV captured the paragliders flying as part an international air games festival and then falling into the ocean after the collision.

International air games festival saw over 2,000 paragliders, wingsuit athletes and others from 60 countries attend the event in Oludeniz (a well-known resort for paragliding activities). 

Turkish coast guards also saved a paraglider from Ukraine after she lost control and fell into the water.

Coast guard units on duty immediately saw the woman and brought her to safety, Turkish coast guard stated in a written statement.

It said that the woman was taken to safety, and then rushed to the hospital. She was stable.
