Sir Ian Botham appears to have tested positive for Covid-19 Australia.
David Gower (BT Sport Commentator) confirmed this news when he was overseeing day two of the fourth Ashes Match in Sydney, Australia between England and Australia.
His friend joked that he was good at shaking off hip replacements and other things. He’ll get through it with just a couple of bottles red.

Channel 7 was hit by the Covid-19 epidemic that started at the MCG on Boxing Day.
A member of the crew tested positive during routine testing and was asymptomatic and presenter Mel McLaughlin later revealed it was her, despite being double-vaccinated and boostered.
Botham, 66 years old, and Ricky Pointing, a fellow pundit were required to undergo PCR tests following McLaughlin’s positive test. Seven was forced to change its broadcasting staff at last minute.

Seven responded to the incident by saying that Seven is activating Covid’s measures to safeguard the health and safety both of its staff as well as those in the community. Seven is also following all applicable regulations.
“We have been working with Cricket Australia’s operations team at the MCG.”
