Emmerdale and Coronation Street celebrities are reported to have been banned from sharing information on cosmetic surgery and adult entertainment via social media.
ITV spoke to soap stars about online marketing and how it can be promoted so as not to reflect poorly on their channel, or the shows that they appear in.
It comes after earlier this week Sarah Jayne Dunn was sacked from her £120k a year job on Hollyoaks for refusing to leave the x-rated OnlyFans.

New Rules: Emmerdale and Coronation Street stars will reportedly be prohibited from advertising diet pills, adult entertainment or cosmetic surgery on social media. (pictured Helen Flanagan, former Corrie star).
This will allow cast members, but only with their blessings, to put paid advertisements to keep them from leaving shows just because they earn more online.
According to a source, the publication was told by a person familiar with the matter: “Stars such as Helen Flanagan (former Corrie actress) are overwhelmed with opportunities for promotion of products via platforms like Instagram.
“And earnings can often exceed any salary actors are paid on soaps. It can make it more lucrative to leave shows in order to efficiently sell goods.

Reaction: It comes after Sarah Jayne Dunn (pictured) was sacked from her £120k a year job on Hollyoaks for refusing to leave the x-rated OnlyFans
“This is simply an intelligent way to make sure they can advertise products even though they are not on the show.
“But they specify in black and white the unacceptable behavior – it was previously a gray area.”
Other prohibited goods include alcohol, gambling and tobacco as well as vaping, fireworks, financial products, and other forms of nicotine.

ITV Stars has spoken to soap stars regarding what they could promote and sell online, so it does not reflect poorly on ITV or their shows. According to The Sun (pictured Brooke Vincent from Corrie).
According to reports, ITV has just announced the new rules. They will be reviewed in three months.
MailOnline reached out to ITV for comment.
This comes just a week after Sarah was fired from Hollyoaks for violating OnlyFans rules.
The actress, 40, – who reportedly earned a whopping £7,200 in just a week after joining the X-rated subscription service – will no longer appear on the show as character Mandy Richardson after discussions with producers.

Confident: Last month Sarah explained her decision to join the website popular with celebrities such as Lottie Moss and Kerry Katona in a bid to ‘take back control’ after years of doing lads mags
The spokesperson from Channel 4 stated that the soap takes their responsibility towards their young viewers very seriously and is saddened to have her leave.
Sarah is Mandy’s on-off character since 1996.
Sarah, who joined the site popularized by celebrities Kerry Katona and Lottie Moss last month explained that she wanted to “take back control” after many years of writing lads mags.
A Hollyoaks spokesperson stated that Hollyoaks was a drama for youth with many viewers who closely follow the cast, inside and out.
Hollyoaks is very serious about their responsibility towards our younger audience and does not permit cast members of Hollyoaks to post on websites for 18+.
“We hoped that we could find a solution with Sarah to allow her to keep her Mandy role, but she has made the right decision to publish content on OnlyFans.
“Her legacy character, which she has been a part of for the last four years, was an integral part in many important storieslines. It will be a very difficult decision to let her go.”

It’s possible! Last Saturday, the mum-of-1 revealed that she had joined OnlyFans. She shared an Instagram post in which she described how empowered and confident she felt taking provocative photos.
