An accident that involved a car travelling at “100mph” on a Derbyshire highway has resulted in the death of a teenage boy.
Keeley Birks, 17, has been named by officers as the teenager who was involved in a fatal collision with a Vauxhall Astra at around 8pm on Saturday evening.
Following an alleged hit-and-run accident at 100mph, Ms Birks’ Harvey Road was reported to have been struck by an object. Officers responded quickly and were dispatched to Harvey Road in Allenton.

Keeley Birks, 17 years old, has been identified by police as the teenage victim of the fatal collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a Vauxhall Astra.
The police confirmed they had recovered the car believed to have been involved in the accident, but are still investigating.
Witnesses said they saw paramedics performing CPR on the teenage victim and that a cordon was being put up last night.
Reports also indicate that residents saw a police helicopter hovering over the area until late last night. It isn’t known yet if there have been any arrests.
The officers are appealing to witnesses and drivers who have dashcam video to assist their investigation.
Derbyshire police released the following statement: “A teenager girl died last night in Harvey Road collision. She was named Keeley Birks.”
“The accident occurred around 8.30pm. The 17-year-old died shortly after.
Our officers will provide specialist assistance to the family and friends of this woman.
“Our investigation is continuing, but we are able to confirm that the vehicle thought to have been involved has been recovered.

Although police have confirmed the recovery of the vehicle believed to be in the collision, their investigation continues
