You can always pull the other one. You’re guaranteed to get groans from everyone at the Christmas dinner table… The best cracker jokes in 2021

  • A top 20 list was compiled from the gags submitted by the general public.
  • Jokes tackle everything from pandemic and energy crisis to Government U-turns
  • There’s even an amusing gag about Jackie Weaver (63), who is now an internet celebrity.

They are predictable and horrible, guaranteed to make you groan.

But a new list of Christmas cracker jokes has dispensed with old chestnuts in favour of topical issues and runs the risk of being, well… funny.

These gags were submitted anonymously and made into top 20, which reveals a dark sense humor in the face the past two years.

The jokes tackle everything from the pandemic and the energy crisis to Government U-turns, Brexit and former health secretary Matt Hancock’s affair with his aide.

Predictably dreadful and guaranteed to raise groans all round, they can be enough to drive you to an extra glass of eggnog. But a new list of Christmas cracker jokes has dispensed with old chestnuts in favour of topical issues and runs the risk of being, well… funny

Jackie Weaver is even the subject of a gag. She became an internet sensation after her Zoom-based parish council meeting went viral.

Following public voting on the finalist list, Bruce Dessau, comedian and author of the entries to Twitter made the TV channel Gold compile the list.

The author of the winning entry won £1,500 towards a holiday, a festive hamper and a box of Christmas crackers containing his joke.
