After nine months of separation, two brothers soldier were found together by This Morning’s viewers in tears at Lapland UK.

To reconnect with their families and friends, Sergeant Major John Rawdon and Captain David Rawdon of the 2nd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment were on ITV today.

In an emotional segment, presenter Josie Gibson arrived at Lapland UK, in Ascot, to reunite the young children with their fathers, who have been away for up to nine months.

When Santa Claus entered the grotto, the children were talking to Santa Claus. The resulting tears and family hugs made viewers weep at their homes.

After nine months of separation, two brothers soldier were found together by This Morning viewers in tears at Lapland UK.

Lieutenant Major John Rawdon and Captain David Rawdon, both from the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Anglian Regiment (pictured centre and left), appeared today on ITV to reconnect with their children and partners.

David confessed that he was excited to enter the grotto but also nervous.

John’s partner spoke out about the time he was absent from Christmas Eve with his eldest. He said: ‘It wasn’t easy, but you do your best to make it magical, but it can be very difficult for them when Daddy isn’t there on Christmas morning.

After the touching reunions, twitter users took to Twitter to voice their opinions.

One user wrote that it was an emotional rollercoaster. #ThisMorning It was hilarious to see the chimney guy, and it’s now that I am crying for dads reconnecting with children.

Another added: ‘Blubbing away at @thismorning,’ while a third said: ‘I don’t cry easily but I’m gone.’

Presenter Vernon Kay finally made his This Morning debut on Monday four months later than planned due to Covid-19.

After contracting coronavirus, he was forced to miss the summer’s presenting opportunities.
