Appearing on the programme today, Joanne Smith explained that each year she spends between £3,000 and £7,000 on festive ornaments for her home.

Alison Hammond was given a tour of her home and she revealed that she doesn’t recycle any decorations but rather buys new ornaments every Christmas.

Viewers were left shocked by the segment, with one commenting: ‘It’s £35k of absolute Christmas tat, it’s very tacky and cheap.’

Joanne gave Alison a tour through her house and explained that Alison loved it. They have never seen anything like it.

“It all began a while back. I put up some items and had people drive past, ringing my doorbell and asking to take photos.

“And it keeps getting bigger each year.”

She pointed to a Nativity Scene she bought in America and said: “I am so happy it arrived on time. I was looking for something new.”

However despite Joanne's enthusiasm, This Morning viewers said they were baffled by the house, branding it 'tacky'

This Morning viewers, despite Joanne’s enthusiasm, were confused by Joanne’s house and called it “tacky”.

Meanwhile the mother-of-one also explained she doesn’t ever recycle her decorations and this year has spent £6,000 on decor.

She stated that she uses different kinds. A half-full of the stuff that I don’t use is in my storage.

I don’t want it overcrowded or looking like a gardening centre. The garden must still feel comfortable, hasn’t he?

Among the more dramatic decorations was an three meter tall Santa Claus which she said cost £800.

Joanne explained: ‘Everyone loves him, he wasn’t actually that expensive…about £800, quite a bargain.’

During the home tour, she said that the foyer featured a candy cane motif and added: “I wanted to make it jolly for my children.”

And in the kitchen, she unveiled the centre piece – a new £1,800 Santa Claus ornament.

Also, she showed off several other decorations including a Grinch-themed Grinch area as well as an animated Father Christmas.

She stated: “I need to see Grinch, because it’s my favourite Christmas film.”

This Morning viewers, however, were not impressed by her enthusiasm.

One person commented, “This is outrageous!”

One other wrote, “This woman’s home on This Morning is crazy.” She is a great example of what I would like to do.

The third comment was: “That house appears unlived in!” She must be very proud of her children for not allowing them to touch these decorations.
