“We require a comprehensive approach to flood control, including property developers, insurance companies, and the government addressing the problem of flooding on floodplains.”
The spokesperson for the government stated that it was clear in Government policy that floodplain development should not be allowed. Protections need to be provided when necessary.

‘While we applaud the Government’s efforts to improve housing supply, there are concerns over the UK’s vulnerability to floods in the future. This is especially evident in the current approval process for new developments of flood-prone housing in areas where they will be built.
