TV chef Tom Kerridge has been slammed for selling his cook-at-home Valentine’s Day box for £185.
Marlow’s 48-year-old Michelin-starred restaurant proprietor shared a link for his meal kit to his Facebook page. He claimed that the package had ‘everything needed to make Valentine’s Day super special.
It includes posh canapes including Cornish Lobster Tartlette with Rapeseed Mayonnaise, as well as a starter of Sourdough Tortano Loaf and Cultured Jersey Butter. The main course is Beef Wellington and the dessert is Traditional Sticky Toffee Pudding.
While many were excited to try the Michelin-starred fare, some complained that £92.50 was ‘overprice s***’ when the meal has to be cooked at home.

Tom – who was on MasterChef, Saturday Kitchen and other shows – is accused of taking advantage last February’s Covid-19 pandemic by closing down restaurants.
In 2021 the canapes were Whipped Tunworth Cheese Gougères and Dorset Lobster and Avocado Tartelette, plus English Mustard & Cider Glazed Pork Belly, Black Pudding and Crackling.
All starters were the same, and beef wellington was served again last year. However, Truffled Creedy Carver Chicken was available.
It was very similar to last year’s version – it was a sticky chocolate pudding.
A woman was upset and said, “Really disappointed Tom. Why is there no change to the menu? We loved it last year and would definitely have made it again, even if the menu were different.
A second person echoed the sentiment and stated that it looked very similar to last years.
One man asked “Gluten free options?”
Another one said, “Please make a vegetarian option some day.”
One quipped: ‘Do you do a box for 1?’
Another: “Wow Tom.” It looks amazing. All you have to do is find a man with whom to share this experience.

It would be impossible to have that many guests, if there were no vegans or tiny people like The Borrowers.
