Students could be affected by strikes at up to SIXTY universities

  • The University and College Union members have pledged to hold walk-outs
  • Russell Group members including Cambridge have mandates to strike
  • For students who are enrolled mostly online, this would cause further problems

Strike action at up to 60 universities threatens the education of hundreds of thousand of students.

Students from the University and College Union pledge to walk out on campus in protest of their working conditions, including pay and pensions.

The union said it had support from 70.1 per cent of members in a ballot – providing a ‘big mandate’ for strike action, possibly before Christmas.
