The 79th Venice Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday, as stars including Jodie Turner-Smith Julianne Moore and Greta Gerwig graced the red carpet for the premiere of White Noise.
Stars pulled no punches for the 10 day premiere. Julianne, 61 and Jodie, 35 were stunning in bold sequinned gowns. Greta, 39 was dazzling in a black ribbed, plunging dress.
White Noise is an adaptation from the 1985 bestseller by Don DeLillo. The film serves as the curtain-raiser for the New York Film Festival.
Jodie looked stunning in an orange-pleated, plunging top with jewels and a sweeping skirt with orange pleats. She paired it with bold green gloves.
Julianne made sure all eyes were focused on her while she danced along the red carpet wearing a black dress and matching cape, embellished with multicoloured sequins.
This Hollywood A-lister displayed a very leggy performance through the sheer fabric of her skirt, leaving her black underlayer clearly visible.
Greta chose a black maxi with a low neck and batwing sleeves. She paired it with a large turquoise pendant necklace.

Brazilian model AlessandraAmbrosio, 41 years old, made sure that all eyes were upon her as she wore the hot pink gown with her trademark pins.
The pink-colored stilettos she wore barely covered her height and were complemented by delicate bracelets.

White Noise sees Adam starring alongside Greta Gerwig, Don Cheadle and Jodie, in director Noah Baumbach’s screen adaptation of DeLillo’s critically acclaimed postmodernist novel about an ‘Airborne Toxic Event’ and its impact on a small American town.
Venice Film Festival, which attracts some of the world’s biggest stars annually takes place on the Lido Island in Venice Lagoon. Movie screenings will take place at the Palazzo del Cinema, Lungomare Marconi.

Brendan Fraser’s dramatic drama The Whale in which he portrays an obese professor will compete with films featuring Cate Blanchett and Hugh Jackman.
Alberto Barbera spoke out about Alberto Barbera’s selection of line-up directors for the event, saying that he was proud to say: “The program is more diverse than usual, placing confirmed filmmakers alongside directors seeking confirmation and, most importantly, talented newcomers striving for international recognition.”

Venice Film Festival, the oldest film festival in the world, was founded in 1932. It celebrates all aspects of filmmaking around the globe.
The event will go on until September 10, when it will end with a closing ceremony.
