An interviewer asked Neil Parish’s wife to tell her that she finds the accusations against her husband very embarrassing. He refused to leave the House of Commons when the whip was withdrawn. Parish claimed that he viewed the x-rated website by accident.
Susan Parish, Mr Parish’s 40-year-old wife, said that she wasn’t aware of the actions of her husband in the past.
M. Parish was then asked by the reporter if he accidentally opened a file.
Following an investigation, he stated that he’d quit and then apologized. He also said that he only had this information to his wife.
Mrs Parish said, “It all was very embarrassing.” It was all very embarrassing.
People shouldn’t look at pornography. He won’t sit with others looking. He wouldn’t do it knowing. [people were looking].
“These ladies had every right to be like that.” [upset]As they were. In these situations, I have no idea. It’s possible, but I’m not sure if this has happened in the past,” she said to The Times.
Mrs Parish described her husband, as an MP and a person of integrity. She also said that the drama was “so stupid”.
Today, Mr. Parish was visibly distressed and spoke out to reporters from his house. He said that he couldn’t speak with his wife right away after having referred himself to the standards monitor.
He said: ‘I’d just been to a surgery in Honiton and this is God’s own truth, the mobile phone was completely flat – I had to come back on the M5 otherwise I would have spoken to her sooner.’
Parish answered that he understands why people are upset and apologised. The results of the investigation will be revealed to me, but I’ll still wait.
When asked by GB News about the latest scandal rocking Westminster, the Tiverton-Honiton MP said that Westminster might be ‘intense’ and that he was going to find people who’step over the line.

Outside his house, Mr Parish made a statement in which he said that the Conservative whip was suspended while the investigation is ongoing
Following days of speculation and fever, the party whip was suspended for the 65-year-old after he was identified as the Tory man who had been spotted looking at smut in the company of Tory women.
Parish is an MP who was elected in 2010 and chairs the cross-party Environment Committee. He has now referred himself the the standards watchdog after being accused of watching material that contained adult content by his female colleagues.
On GB News, Parish said that the claims must be handled’seriously’. He also supported Tory whips for a thorough investigation.
He then added: ‘If you’ve got sort of 650 members of parliament in what is a very intense area, you are going to get people that step over the line…
“I don’t believe that there is necessarily an overwhelming culture (of misogyny), but it needs to be treated and addressed seriously. That is what whips will do.
Opposition parties were calling for him to resign this evening. He made a statement tonight, vowing to work as an MP.
He wrote on his website that he would cooperate fully in any investigation and while it’s ongoing, would continue to fulfill my duties as Tiverton MP and Honiton MP.

Today, MP Neil Parish is pictured at home. He has been stripped of the Conservative whip while being investigated over allegedly viewing pornography in Parliament

Chris Heaton Harris, chief whip of Tory MPs has temporarily suspended his whip until he is formally re-elected. Nickie Aiken, backbencher (right), said that the Tory MP who was responsible for monitoring pornography in Houses of Parliament must quit.
Thangam Debbonaire, Shadow Commons Leader, said that the Conservatives had known for many days about the disgusting behavior of one of their MPs. They tried to hide it…
“This is a government that’s rotting from head to tail.” Britain deserves better.’
Even though the allegations remain under investigation, Daisy Cooper (Liberal Democrat deputy head) said Boris Johnson had to order his MP to resign.
She said that if Boris Johnson had any semblance of humanity left, he would immediately tell Neil Parish to resign.
If this happens in another workplace, it would be considered gross misconduct. In such cases the employee would be fired. The same should apply to Parliament.
“We don’t have to offend the female MPs who saw this. We just need to look at their viewing history. His bosses don’t need to ask him for his equipment and review his viewing history. This isn’t rocket science.
Caroline Nokes Tory MP, Chair of Women and Equalities Committee said that she was disappointed the whip wasn’t suspended immediately and was now “very relieved”.
ITV News reported that she said: “I’ve been calling on the Chief Whip for him to remove his whip ever since we first learned about this incident…
“I’m happy that action was taken. I also hope that two of the complainants are supported in the system.
The PM has previously condemned the alleged watching of porn in the Commons, while other Conservatives said the MP involved should take a ‘long, hard look’ at themselves and resign.
The Chief Whip Chris Heaton Harris spokeswoman this afternoon and revealed the identity of Mr Parish. She said: “Having spoken with the Chief Whip this evening, Neil Parish MP reports himself to the Parliamentary Commissary for Standards.
“Mr Parish was removed from the Conservative Whip in the interim while the investigation is completed.”
It appears that a procedure has been initiated through the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme (ICGS) of Parliament.
There are also complaints that Heaton Harris had made the scandal “into the long grass” by refering it to Parliamentary grievance rather than taking any action.
The IGCS inquiry appears to have been triggered by at least one witness filing a complaint.
After Mr Parish’s agreement to report to the Standards Committee, a second investigation might be opened.
He has not yet reported any potential violations of the code of conduct of MPs.
It is believed Kathryn Stone, Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, could consider whether Parish has caused significant damage to the integrity and reputation of the Commons.
The claims that two female Tory colleagues had seen a Tory porn at the House of Commons were met with disgust by MPs.
The PM visited Burnley yesterday and said to broadcasters that it is clearly unacceptable for any employee to engage in such behavior at work.
It would apply to any job anywhere in the country. Let’s get this out of the way:
“Now is the time to follow the right procedures, to activate the grievances or independent complaints process, and to gain an understanding of the facts. But, this kind behavior is completely unacceptable.”
Suella Braverman, the Attorney General of Canada, said that if an MP were found to be watching porn material, it would result in their being ‘nolonger holding their privilege as a Member’.
She claimed that there is a small number of men who fail to live up to the standard of honesty and some people who act like animals and bring discredit on Parliament.

Following news that Neil Parish (Tory MP) is under investigation for allegedly watching porn in Parliament, Neil Parish returns to Somerset.

After discovering that Mr Parish had watched porn in Parliament, journalists met him at his Somerset residence.
Nickie Aiken, Tory MP and porn-watcher MP said that the MP had to resign from the Commons. She warned that he caused ‘pain and suffering’ and that it was embarrassing both Parliament and the party.
He should take a long hard, honest look at himself. She told Times Radio that she agreed.
Earlier today, Anne-Marie Trevelyan said the vast majority of her male colleagues are ‘delightful’ and ‘committed parliamentarians’.
However, she stated that some had behaved badly after having ‘too many drinks’ and insisted people act like their daughter is present.
Ms Trevelyan described an extraordinary event in which she was “pinned against the wall” by a man, who now is not an MP.
Ms Trevelyan told Sky News of male MPs: ‘There are a few for whom too much drink, or indeed a sort of, a view that somehow being elected makes them you know, God’s gift to women, that they can suddenly please themselves, that is never OK, that kind of behaviour, disrespect for women.’
She said, “Fundamentally if your a bloke keep your hands in them and act as if your daughter was in the room.”
LBC Radio interview with Ms Trevelyan: “I have witnessed the extreme end of misogyny by some colleagues many, many times.”
“We may call it wandering hands. If you want, we could describe it like being held against the wall by a male member of Parliament who’s no longer with us. I am happy to report that I declared I wanted him, because he was powerful.”
“These kinds of things, power abuses that only a small number of male colleagues display is totally unacceptable.”
She encouraged women who were subject to this kind of behavior to “make public humiliation one your tools.”
Although Ms Trevelyan called watching porn on the Commons floor ‘completely inacceptable’, she did not say whether it was time for the MP to be fired.
