Dez knew that something was wrong the moment he felt the lump.

“I believed his judgment and immediately went to the doctor. After all, who is more acquainted with my breasts then my husband?

We are closer now than ever since the menopause. Dez and I became more intimate, and Dez began to be interested in each other’s boobs. It has been a lifesaver for me.

“Shoutout to Macmillan and the NHS for getting so fast, as well as Macmillan’s incredible support. But most of all to my husband for whom I would marry again after 20 wonderful years.

Tina knew that sex can be painful or uncomfortable during menopause. However, she was determined to find ways Tina and Dez could live together.

Tina said, “When my menopause began it was almost like that I was going through puberty all over again.

“I had to communicate with Dez how I felt instead of trying to push him away, so that he understood what I was experiencing.

“It wasn’t that I did not want to have sex, but sometimes it was painful or uncomfortable.

Don’t worry, we’re not all alone! There are many resources that can assist couples in having sex during menopause. All you need is to know where it’s located.

“It didn’t push us apart; it brought us closer. We just needed to adapt.
