One woman claimed that burglars tried to take her apartment. They changed the locks and threw out all her belongings while she was gone.
Shayna Rice from Tacoma in Washington was shocked to discover that others were living in her house.
Two strangers entered her home while she was away, claimed the mom-of-1. They didn’t simply rob her, they also left.
Instead they moved in and occupied the home for several weeks. They sold her most valuables, threw away the rest and changed the locks to make it impossible for her to get inside.
The police eventually kicked the door down and took the suspects into custody. They allegedly had a gun as well as a knife.
A woman said that her apartment was taken from her by thieves who broke in and replaced the locks. She also lost most of her belongings while she was gone. Her Christmas tree was even up!
Shayna from Tacoma (Washington) was stunned to find that there were other people living in her home.
Shayna said that two people broke into her home. They didn’t just take her home and then leave. The couple took her place and made the locks lockable so that she could not get in.
The cops finally got down on the ground and detained a man & a woman.
Shayna shared her TikTok experience and it has gone viral with more than 4 million views within days.
“Someone entered our home while we were away, changed our locks and packed our stuff. Then, she tried to redecorate,” she said in a video. It showed officers surrounding the apartment and then closing the door.
“The police were forced to knock down our doors because it was impossible for us to get inside because the locks had been changed by them.” The police were still present.
While showing the viewers her empty house and various items that had been missing, she added: “They had a pistol and a knife which police discovered. They took our photographs and drew. They put Christmas decorations up and went to storage. They took our dryer.
Shayna, who spoke about the matter further in another video, explained that she lives in more than one apartment and hadn’t been back for some time.
She went to collect her belongings a few weeks back. She was about to decorate Christmas trees when she noticed the storage unit, which is on their porch, had been altered and there was tape covering the dead bolt. So, she decided not go in.
She was told by a neighbor that she heard some argument coming from her apartment. However, they assumed that it was her. A neighbor also stated that they had seen many trash bags at the house recently.
Shayna stated that she hadn’t recognized the intruders. She claimed they were told by someone to leave.
She stated that she and her husband sold most of their valuables, which included her dryer and TVs. They also threw away the rest.
Even going into her storage unit, they took out all her Christmas decorations, including stocking holders and lights.
Shayna stated that the two of them allegedly carried a gun as well as a knife.
On TikTok, the mom-of-one shared their experience and it has gone viral. The video gained more than four millions views in just a few days
Shayna returned a few days later to see that the tape had disappeared and that a new, shiny lock was installed on the door.
But she believed that it was her landlord who changed it.
‘I was thinking, “Maybe somebody broke in” and so they needed to change the locks. Shayna said that maybe someone broke in.
However, when she visited the office of the building and inquired about the matter, they said that the management team had no clue why the lock was altered. That’s when she felt alarmed.
“They called the head of maintenance, and said that they had never entered our apartment and hadn’t touched it.” She added: They were like “You should call the police.”
The police found wood splinters near the entrance to the apartment when they arrived. This could have been evidence that someone kicked the doors in an attempt to get into the apartment.
Shayna said that the thieves entered the house, made sure the locks worked, and then took the keys out and installed a new lock.
“The police come knocking at the door. Open up.” However, they aren’t giving up.
‘[They]Boom, police arrive at the scene. The only thing I can hear is the police shouting “Put your hands down!”
Shayna reported that police had found a gun, and a knife once she was inside. She said that she didn’t recognize the man and woman being brought by police.
When she got into the house, she was stunned at what she found. She was not only allowed to leave her personal belongings behind, but she also saw some Christmas decorations.
‘As soon as we go up the stairs, the first thing we see in the living room is hella bags, hella s**t packed up, put into a nice little corner in the living room,’ she explained.
They allegedly took pictures of her and made some Christmas decorations.
The couple were lying on their son’s bed on the ground.
Shayna claimed that her closet had been emptied and that all of her purses, shoes, and bags were gone
Shayna informed viewers that she had rental insurance and will file a claim for everything she took
“The second thing that I noticed is the Christmas decorations. The little miniature tree they removed from my storage. They also took small stocking holders and christmas lights.
‘Next thing I noticed was the big a** knife they had. They wanted to fight for this apartment. They were like, “This is our s**t, you’re not getting it back.”‘
They also completely empty her closet, she said.
“My shoe rack had gone empty. My shoes were gone. All purses were gone. “I don’t know how they got them but they were gone,” she stated.
The TVs, dryer, oven, and Apple computers in her house had all been removed.
‘I don’t know how they moved a big a** dryer down those stairs with nobody seeing them but apparently they did,’ Shayna said.
Shayna says that when police spoke with the strangers they said they had just entered the house one night earlier and someone told them to stay.
‘They’re lying. First, they took stuff. They brought my son’s dresser into my room and put a big a** printer on it,’ she added.
They brought their laptop. The couple had the time and inclination to redecorate like no one is stupid. They bagged up our s**t, stole hella of our stuff, sold it probably.
“Bagged our stuff and was likely going to sell or give it away, but they kicked us out of our house.”
Shayna assured viewers that her rentals insurance covers everything and she would file a claim.
