The Queen’s granddaughter, 40,  who welcomed son Lucas on March 21st, could be seen beaming as she strode across the grounds of the course for the Showcase Meeting this afternoon.

The royal wore a purple coat with a mid-length length for the occasion. She paired it well with black heels boots and a maroon handbag.

The silver Olympic-winning equestrian is now residing on the estate of Princess Anne in Gloucestershire, Gatcombe Park.

She told a royal special edition of Horse & Hound magazine that she enjoys the pressure of competing.

She stated that she loved riding for her country and that it was one of the most rewarding experiences in my career. To get your horse to this level is what it’s all all about and what we all strive to achieve, she said.

“I love big events because I love the pressure. You are able to ride for your country on a horse you trust, and you’re fully prepared.

Zara won a silver medal for her team at the London 2012 Olympics and was presented with her medal from her mother, the Princess Royal.

She added that she is’so blessed’ to have been allowed to spend time with her horses during lockdown and that it’s been a ‘incredibly difficult’ for those who don’t have that luxury.
