Margaux Pinot (French Olympic Judo gold Medallist) shared horrific photos of her bleeding face, just hours after her partner as a martial arts coach was released from jail.
Alain Schmitt, the 27-year old, was reported by her partner for trying to strangle and punching her during the weekend.
The 38-year old was arrested and denied all allegations. He was then acquitted by court.
Judge said that a court was never supposed to be able to determine who lies and is truthful.
Pinot uploaded a snap of her battered visage to Twitter just a few minutes after the hearing. It caused outrage.
Stéphane Nomis, president of the French Judo Federation, and female French judo star Clarisse Agbégnénou both expressed shock over the court’s decision.
Agbégnénou tweeted: ‘I do not have the words to express everything that is going on in my head and my body as a woman in the face of what my teammate Margaux Pinot has gone through. Even more stunned by the court’s decision. How can the court allow these sanctions to become fatal?
Members of the French Judo community expressed their support, including three-time Olympic champion Teddy Riner, who tweeted: ‘We are all deeply touched by what our teammate Margaux Pinot has just suffered and we give her our full support. How can victims be heard? It is important that the attackers are convicted.

Pinot posted the following tweet after the court ruling: “During the night between Saturday and Sunday, I became the victim of an attack at my house by my companion, trainer.
“I was punched and insulted. My head was also hit several times on the ground.” And then, finally, strangled.
After Schmitt’s outburst she said that she fled to her neighbors, where she was then called by the police.
Continued she: “I have many injuries, including broken nose and temporary interruption from work for 10 days.” He was released by justice today.
“What’s their slanderous defense worth to me, my wounds, the blood that is strewn all over my apartment floor?” Is there anything missing? Maybe death in the end? Judo saved me. I am also thinking of those who are unable to say the same.
Schmitt denied all allegations and stated that Pinot started the fight. French media reports showed visible bruises.
He said, “I’ve never hit any woman in my entire life,” to the court.
His lawyer, Malik Behloul, disputed Pinot’s version of events, telling the court: ‘With the strength that this man [Mr Schmitt]As a result, he can do a lot more harm than that.
Schmitt, who was being held hours before Schmitt’s supposed takeover of the Israeli national women’s Judo team was due, was arrested. The Israel Judo Association however has stated that it had severed all ties with Schmitt.
