Hollywood is still reeling following the tragic death of Halyna HUTCHINS, 42, a director of photography on Thursday at Rust in New Mexico.

The 42-year old was struck fatally by a projectile from Alec Baldwin’s prop gun. She arrived at the hospital via helicopter shortly after.

Hutchins’ passing is unfortunately the latest in a long string of tragedies that have occurred on sets of TV shows and movies over the years. We’ll be looking at them all below.

Brandon Lee, the son and martial arts icon Bruce Lee’s, was a rising star until one of the most tragic Hollywood deaths cut short his life.

Actor was filming a scene in which his character was killed and robbed by street thugs. A dummy cartridge was removed and replaced with a blank cartridge. The blank round was fired into the actor’s abdomen with the same force of a live bullet.

After six hours of unsuccessful emergency surgery, Lee succumbed to his injuries at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina at just 28.

Motherless Brooklyn (2018) – Set Fire to Kill FDNY Firefighter

When fire broke out on Motherless Brooklyn’s set in March 2018, tragedy struck Edward Norton’s directorial debut Motherless Brooklyn.

The FDNY was called in by decorated fireman Michael Davidson (37), who had been with the FDNY for 15-years. He died on the spot.

He had been cited four times for bravery during his tenure.

Cover Up (1984): Actor Jon-Erik Hexum is killed by a bullet cartridge 

Cast and crew were filming Episode 7 of 1984 TV Series Cover Up when tragedy struck October 12, 1984.

Jon-Erik Hexum, actor, was filming a scene in which he was supposed to simulate Russian Roulette. A cartridge in the gun was fired at him and he was instantly killed.

The actor was rushed to Beverly Hills Medical Center and underwent emergency surgery. He died five days later, at 26.

The Twilight Zone: The Movie (1982). Vic Morrow, two children and a helicopter tailrotor killed Vic Morrow.

The scene was supposed show Morrow’s character being taken back to Vietnam to protect two Vietnamese children.

Vietnam veteran Dorceywingo flew a helicopter above a mortar effect. This caused the helicopter’s to crash and detonated on the rotor.

Morrow and Le were killed by the main rotor blade of the helicopter, while Chen was crushed to death.

The incident led to a legal battle that lasted more than ten years and to stricter safety regulations than ever before.

Deadpool 2 (2018) – Stuntwoman Joi ‘SJ’ Harris Dies in Motorcycle Crash

Production of the highly-anticipated Deadpool 2 was halted after a stunt motorcycle rider lost control of her motorcycle and crashed to death.

Joi ‘SJ’ Harris was filming a stunt sequence at Shaw Tower in Vancouver, when she lost control and crashed into a plate glass window.

It was Harris’ first gig as a stunt rider, though she was an experienced rider, and was the first African-American female professional road racer.

Harris was not wearing helmet at the time of the accident. Domino, played by Zazie Betetz, did not wear one.
