Alec Baldwin tweeted that he was told prop gun was safe in case of fatal shooting. He attended the private memorial to the female cinematographer who was accidentally shot on the set of his movie.
Halyna Houtchins, 42, was tragically murdered on Thursday by Baldwin who fired a pro gun that was loaded in live ammunition.
According to ShowBiz411, a private memorial was held in Santa Fe last evening with Matthew Hutchins, Hutchins’ 9-year-old son and Baldwin. ShowBiz411 reported that there were grief counselors present at the service.

Baldwin accidentally shot and killed Hutchins on Thursday when he fired his prop gun, which was loaded with live ammo.

Baldwin addressed the tragedy via Twitter Friday: “There are no words that can express my shock and sadness at the tragic accident that claimed the life of Halyna HUTCHINS, a wife and mother, and deeply admired colleague of mine,” I am fully cooperating with police investigations to determine how this tragedy happened.
“I am in touch and offering my support to her husband and their family. My heart is broken for her husband, their child, and all those who knew and loved Halyna.
Matthew Hutchins, Hutchins’ husband in grief, told DailyMail.com Friday morning that he had spoken to the actor.
Alec Baldwin said that he had spoken to him and was very supportive.
A public memorial will be held at Albuquerque from 6 to 7:30 pm on Saturday.
After the fatal shooting, Baldwin was heard asking people around him why he’d been handed a ‘hot gun’.
‘In all my years, I’ve never been handed a hot gun,’ he was heard saying.
It was revealed that the 24-year-old head armourer in charge of guns had previously admitted in an interview that she wasn’t sure she was up for it.
Hannah Gutierrez Reed, who was the head armorer for The Old Way, said that she almost turned down the job because she wasn’t sure if it was right for her.
In the podcast interview, she also stated that she found loading blanks into a gun the scariest thing. This was because she didn’t know how it worked and had sought help form her father, Thell Reed (respected gunsmith) to get over this fear.
