Amy Winehouse’s heart-shaped Moschino bag sells for more than £150,000 at LA charity auction – TEN TIMES its estimate

  • At the Brit Awards in 2007, the late singer donned the quirky accessory.

  • Amy’s family has sold the collection and proceeds will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. This foundation was established by Janis and Mitch Winehouse, the stars parents. 










Amy Winehouse’s heart-shaped Moschino bag has sold for a staggering £151,726 at a charity auction at Julien’s in Los Angeles this weekend. 

In 2007, the Brit Awards were held in London. The singer who passed away in 2011 wore this kooky accessory. 

The garment fetched ten times its estimate which was set at £14,820 – and was just one of many items being sold.

Other items included in the sale include a black and green dress she wore to her Belgrade concert in 2011.   

Her performance at the Belgrade Tuborg Festival saw the esteemed singer appear disorientated on stage and she was booed off the stage. The 18-leg European tour she was on was cancelled. She stayed for a week in The Priory clinic.

A month and a half later, the soul singer, aged 27 was found unresponsive in Camden, North London.

Naomi Parry, the stylist for the songtress and also the designer of the gown said: “I feel an enormous amount of sadness whenever I look at this dress. It was supposed be the start to something new and moving ahead. It was something she had done well.

Other belongings included ballet flats which were estimated to sell for £444 but ended up making £14,224.   

Another item was a floral gold Dolce & Gabbana dress, fetched £111,130. In 2007, she wore this number to Blackpool.   

Other than clothing, the package includes a birthday letter signed by Amy’s close friends Mark and Adele. It also contains drawings, a drum set, and an ATB mix board from Toft Audio Designs that was used by the singer. 

Amy’s family has sold the collection and proceeds will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. This foundation was established by Janis and Mitch Winehouse, the parents of the celebrity. It supports teenagers with substance abuse problems.

The collection will then be sent to London for Amy: Beyond The Stage exhibition at London’s Design Museum from ­November 26.  

Highlights from the auction’s sale will be on tour throughout the globe, including stops at Los Angeles’ Grammy Museum. 

The items will then be shipped to the successful bidders by April.
