  • Police officers wearing riot gear were on standby to face the protestors.
  • Anarchists parade through the streets, posing as Boris Johnson and sporting full-face masks.
  • Since 2012, the Million Mask March is held every year. However, it becomes increasingly violent with protestors rallying against government officials each year.

As hundreds descend upon London to protest the Annual Million Mask March, which is billed as ‘will be remembered in history’ by many of them, it could lead to a violent fight between Met Police officers.

Anarchists and other anti-establishment activists rally against corruption and wealth inequality, and as of last year, the restrictions on coronavirus.

Protestors armed with Guy Fawkes weapons and Guy Fawkes masks are making a show of it. This has led to riot police being called in to respond to the threat by deploying riot gear and setting up barricades across the city.

Families and children from all walks of London will be out celebrating bonfire night with fireworks shows all around the city.

As they paraded around Westminster, anarchists were seen wearing Boris Johnson effigies. One of them was even set on fire in Trafalgar Square.

The police claim that they have not made any arrests yet as they seek to ensure peaceful demonstration.

Last year, nearly 200 people were taken into custody for breaking Covid restrictions.

In anticipation of protests, the Met Police released this statement saying intelligence indicates that some protestors may have traveled to London in order to attack police officers.

Police have called in mounted units and canine units to help stop the march becoming a full-fledged riot.

A Met spokesperson stated that the policing plan was developed after a thorough review of intelligence and a continuous evaluation. This suggests that some groups may be intent on disrupting or attacking police officers with violence.

“As a precautionary measure, officers will have special public-order uniforms. Additionally, a series of protection barriers has been installed outside various locations throughout London.

Different units across the Met will also support today’s policing plan, including our public order teams, mounted branch, police dogs and the National Police Air Service.’
