Armie Hammer is said to have spent nearly nine months in rehabilitation after being accused of rape earlier this year.

The news about the 35-year-old performer was initially reported by The Sun on Friday.

According to a source, Armie has been released from the facility in which he had spent nearly nine months.

He said that he particularly enjoyed the company of his kids during this holiday season.

According to the source, he made it clear that he is currently divorcing Elizabeth Chambers with whom he got married in 2010 and was currently going through divorce proceedings.

A media outlet reached out the lawyer of the actor, who refused to comment publicly.

The LAPD previously concluded its nine-month investigation into a rape allegation made against Hammer and sent its findings to the city’s District Attorney’s office, though sources say that ‘charges appear unlikely.’

Hammer’s controversy began this past January when multiple ex-girlfriends accused him of abuse after an Instagram account leaked messages, claimed to have been sent by him, revealing his alleged abusive behavior, cannibalistic fetishes and rape fantasies.

Hammer was never found to have sent the messages and there were no legal proceedings. However, a woman named Effie Angelova announced last March that she would be suing him for allegedly raping her for in a four-hour long ‘violent’ incident in 2017.

After nine months, the LAPD has finished its probe into Angelova’s claim and sources close to the investigation told TMZ that the case against him ‘isn’t strong.’ The sources did not elaborate on the weaknesses in the case and whether they stem from insufficient evidence, a lack of witnesses or another cause all together.

Los Angeles Police Department did not respond to The Daily Mail’s request. When the Daily Mail called George Gascon, a representative of Los Angeles District Attorney said the office hadn’t received any information on the case.

Asked for her reaction on the update on the case, Angelova’s attorney Gloria Allred said ‘no comment.’

Armie Hammer couldn’t be reached for comment. But, as of one month ago the Call Me By Your Name actor was in an inpatient treatment center near Orlando, Florida where he’s being treated for ‘drug alcohol and sex problems’. Vanity Fair reported that Hammer had been in there since May 31.

As news broke about the LAPD investigation’s conclusion, the hashtags ‘supportarmiehammer’ and ‘houseofeffie’ both began dominating Twitter in posts all celebrating the news that charges are not likely to be filed. Most of the tweets also attacked Effie and accused her of lying and trying to sabotage Hammer’s career.

Sources close to Hammer told TMZ that Hammer is thriving despite his continuing treatment. The sources claim Hammer’s health has significantly improved since he began treatment. It is even evident by his voice.

He also kept in touch via FaceTime with Harper, his 6-year-old girl, and Ford, his 4-year-old boy, who he shared with Elizabeth Chambers.

Hammer said that he doesn’t know when his treatment will be completed, but that he was willing to do what it takes to get better.

According to his closest friends, he acknowledged that he had been in an “incredibly difficult place” before treatment. But it’s unclear if he is willing to admit to the same behavior that multiple ex-partners accused him of.

Text messages: In January, leaked text messages allegedly from Hammer appeared to show him discussing dark sexual fantasies involving cannibalism and rape. Above, he allegedly wrote to one woman via DM that he was '100% a cannibal'

Text messages: Leaked texts allegedly by Hammer in January showed Hammer discussing dark sexual fantasies that involved cannibalism or rape. Below, he allegedly told a woman by DM that he was a ‘100% cannibal’.

Hammer began having problems when House of Effie’s Instagram account started leaking distressing messages. They are said to have been sent by Hammer between 2016 and 2020. The messages include disturbing conversations about BDSM as well as sexual references to cannibalistic actions and blood-sucking.

According to one account, an actor sent a message to the woman saying: ‘I am 100 percent a cannibal. You are my favorite.

‘F**k. That’s scary to admit,’ the message continues. I’ve never done that.

Hammer’s former partner Paige Lorenze, Courtney Vucekovich and Courtney Vucekovich were made public after the message leaked. They accused Hammer of emotional and physical abuse while together.

Lorenze explained to Page Six that an actor had placed the letter “A” in Lorenze’s pelvis, branding her. Then, he sucked out the blood.

Also, she accused him emotionally manipulative. He spoke about consuming her repeatedly.

Hammer quit Jennifer Lopez’s movie Shotgun Wedding in January after the first allegations began to surface. He also denied all allegations in a statement made to the Daily Mail.

‘I’m not responding to these b******* claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic,’ he said.

Conversations: Hammer's lawyer released a screenshot of a conversation he said between Angelova and the actor. The screenshot was released from Hammer's team after Angelova's press conference

Conversations: Hammer’s lawyer posted a screenshot from a conversation between Angelova, Hammer and the actor. After Angelova’s press conference, Hammer’s team released the screenshot.

A representative for the production said “Armie has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision.”

Effie Angelova (24), claimed that Armie Hammer raped her for more than four hours in Los Angeles during a press conference she held with Gloria Allred. He repeatedly beat me against the wall and left my skin swollen. Other acts of violence were committed against me by him, to which I didn’t consent.

Variety reports that Angelova claimed she believed Hammer was going to kill her. She also said that he beat her feet during the attack, causing her pain. Angelova stated she attempted to flee, but he refused to let her.

Angelova says she met Hammer through Facebook in her 20s. Although she admits that she fell for Hammer, she now thinks she was victim to manipulative tactics.

He would frequently test my loyalty to me, she claimed. He was abusive to me emotionally, mentally and sexually.

The LAPD quickly confirmed that it was looking into the actor’s actions after an LAPD ‘community member,’ filed a claim for sexual assault against the actor on February 3, 2021.

Divorced: Hammer separated from his wife of 10 years, Elizabeth Chambers, in June 2020 - six months before the HouseOfEffie account started sharing messages

Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers were divorced in June 2020. This was six months prior to the HouseOfEffie account began sharing messages.

Hammer denies the accusations and Angelova’s lawyer provides screenshots from alleged texts between Angelova, Hammer and Angelova. These seem to indicate that Hammer told Angelova he couldn’t have a relationship. However, these images aren’t verified.

Angelova received one message from Hammer, allegedly saying: ‘I don’t think I can engage in that particular way in the moment. This never ends well. Although we can have conversations and become friends, I cannot do this.

Hammer’s meeting with Angelova, according to the lawyer, was also ‘completely consensual’, agreed on in advance by both parties, according to his attorney.

A lawyer claimed that Effie had written to Mr. Hammer in her own letters, which undermined and disproved her bizarre claims. Recently, the lawyer stated that July 18, 2020 was the 18th of July. [she]She sent Mr. Hammer graphic messages expressing her wishes for him to follow through with the task.

‘Mr. Hammer answered, saying that he was not interested in maintaining that relationship with her.

It was not Mr. Hammer’s intention to expose or embarrass. [Effie’s]Fetishes or other sexual desires. But she now has taken this to the next level and hired a civil lawyer in order to host a conference for public media.

“With the truth at his side, Mr. Hammer is open to the chance to correct the record. Every interaction with Mr. Hammer, from the beginning, has been a positive one. [Effie] — and every other sexual partner of his for that matter — have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory.

‘[Effie’s]Attention seeking and unwise legal maneuvers will make it harder for victims of sexual violence who are real to receive justice.

Now, the fate of this case will be decided by the District Attorney.
