One person has been confirmed dead after an apartment building was set on fire in India today.
Dramatic video footage showed the ferocious flames tearing their way through the Avighna Park building on Curry Road in Mumbai, India, today.
As he tried to escape the rapidly expanding flames, Arun Tiwari, 30, was forced to cling desperately onto a balcony of the 60-floor building.


A luxury apartment building in Mumbai, India has caught fire and at least one person has been injured.
He fell from the 19th-floor balcony before rescue arrived. His apartment was engulfed in the inferno.
He was taken to the hospital at approximately 12:30 pm local time following the fall and was declared dead upon his arrival.
Video footage taken from a nearby building showed the charred apartment, with smoke rising into the apartment.
14 fire engines were seen at the base of the building trying to bring down the flames.

Arun Tiwari, a 30-year-old man, fell to his death on the 19th floor while trying to escape the flames.
Kishori Pedenkar, Mumbai Mayor, said that the fire and rescue crew reached the spot as soon they received the information about the incident.
“So many people were saved and the efforts are ongoing.”
According to reports, the fire was put out and brought under control.
