Nativity is a popular Christmas film! The BBC censored the film after it had been uploaded to iPlayer in fear that it might offend viewers.

Although the U certificate indicated that the film was suitable for children aged 4+, the complete version was not made available to the streaming site. 

Viewers were unaware they were watched an edited version, the Daily Star reports. 

The movie's unedited version, starring TV veterans Martin Freeman, Jason Watkins and Ashley Jensen, is also available on Netflix

Nativity, the popular Christmas movie! After it was uploaded on iPlayer, the BBC censored it for fear of offending some viewers.

The sections which were cut out included Alan Carr’s character theatre reviewer Patrick Burns saying: ‘You’re no-one if you haven’t had a bad review off Patrick Burns.

“That’s why Burns’ victims are called them.

Marc Wootton, a teacher assistant in another scene was also cut out. He discussed which students should be included in the play and called one student an ‘eye candy’ for girls.

The BBC was contacted by the Daily Star to put the full movie on iPlayer, according to the newspaper.

Gallows were cut from the censored version, including those of Alan Carr (a theatre reviewer) and Marc Wootton (a classroom assistant).

BBC spokesperson stated that “The film Nativity! Several times on BBC channels in the last weeks.

‘BBC iPlayer was updated to reflect the broadcast of BBC One’s 28 November edition.

You can also stream the movie uncut on Netflix. It stars TV legends Jason Watkins, Martin Freeman and Ashley Jensen.

Film magazine Empire called it a ‘sunny, sweet and family-friendly seasonal fare’ in a review when the movie first came out in 2009.
