In a 15-year-old breeding program, a black labrador gave birth to incredibly rare pure black and chocolate puppies.
Zola was four when she gave birth to 10 pups. They are an amalgamation of three colors that Zola had seen only on a handful of occasions.
Tina Davis (62), and Martin Davis (63), started breeding in 2006 with a female Chocolate Lab.
The couple, Horsham (West Sussex), bred yellow, black, and chocolate Labs over the years and then decided to mix their dog DNA strategically to create a litter.
They have used Wylanbria Kennels as their stud farm, whose owner Diana Stevens, 47, helped them breed a line of studs with whom their bitches could successfully produce a mixed litter.
These ten cute pups, which include three black, three yellow and three chocolate-colored puppies were born October 18, and are already matched up with their permanent homes.
Tina, an elderly hotelier, said: “We have always loved dogs. So when a good friend wanted to travel abroad she needed to bring home her chocolate labs.

Our ‘Chocolate Labs don’t have a reputation for being great gun dogs. We wanted to prove them that they can, with the correct breeding. We started to breed a range of Labs from different colors.
“We had always hoped to have a boy or a girl that could give all three colors since we began breeding. Now we are able to do it.
“Only a small number of Labradors are genetically predisposed to all three colors, and very few Labradors can be mated with a partner to achieve this.
Labradors may have many genetic problems, so make sure you are producing healthy puppies.
Diana’s black labrador Rocks were three of the three that immunized Zola. These three dogs had all been uniquely bred to have all three color genes.
Tina said that Zola gave birth to a baby last week and she was so happy for her.
Typically a breeder can sell a Labrador pup for up to £3,500, but Tina would rather sell them cheaper as she doesn’t want to make them unaffordable for good homes.

There is an enormous waiting list for families to purchase one of their puppies. Their long-standing breeding history shows in the high quality Labs that they produce.
Zola was unable to have her pups delivered via C-section this time. Tina has decided that she will not breed with Zola again.
But, only 50 percent will be able to breed the three colors again from this litter.
Tina has plans to one day breed from Zola’s daughters. She will have the option to select between every colour combination.
“We now have the perfect line for this project, and we are very happy about it, because we successfully bred a litter with different colors,” she stated.
“If they wanted to, they could sell the litter at a significantly higher price since they carry highly valuable genetics. But we weren’t interested in making the money.
We would rather our Labs be adopted to loving homes and families who care about their dog.
