After a suspect shot to the face, a 13-year old boy was taken into custody for attempted murder.
After receiving reports that a firearm was discharged, emergency services responded to a call in Morecambe at 5.56pm Monday.
A man in his 20s was reported to have facial injuries by police.
The patient was transported to the hospital, where he is in stable but serious condition.
A Lancaster boy, aged 13, was arrested by officers investigating the incident on suspicion that he attempted to murder.
Lancashire Constabulary spokesmen said that he was still being held.

At 5.56pm Monday, emergency personnel were summoned to Morecambe (Lancashire) after receiving reports of a gunshot.
James Edmonds of West Division was Det Chief Inspector. He stated that the incident left one man with serious injuries. Anyone who may have any further information is asked to contact him.
The North West Ambulance said paramedics treated the injured man at the scene before taking him to hospital by road.
The spokesman said that multiple resources had been deployed on the spot in order to address a police incident.

The presence of heavy police officers remained on Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson said that patrols would be intensified in the immediate future.
After a shooting in Morecambe, a man sustained serious injuries and was taken to Morecambe’s police station.
