According to new reports, Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden had an intense row with Isabel Hodgins while filming for a dramatic scene. 

The actor, 41, who plays David Metcalfe on the soap and the actress, 27, who plays  his on-screen girlfriend Victoria Sugden clashed while shooting new scenes with Aaron Anthony, reports The Sun. 

According to some reports, the incident happened while they were shooting dramatic scenes at waterfalls in Stockton-on-Tees as part of a special episode.

Sources told The Post that the situation made many feel uncomfortable. It was quite heated. 

The tension was high. It was very tense, and it wasn’t long before the bosses heard about all that had happened.  

“While they where on set, a comment which was not intended to offend caused an argument among cast members.

According to an insider, Emmerdale believed the allegations were serious and Matthew and Isabel never filmed scenes in response to inquiries.

The matter was settled and no further action was taken. Both were then allowed to return to the sets last week.

According to reports, the couple took a break while filming was underway at Tees Barrage in Stockton-on-Tees. 

It was an attempt to promote ITV’s Super Soap Week.

Emmerdale spokesperson said that while Emmerdale would not comment on specific cases, Emmerdale does have robust policies to address any accusations and to take appropriate action. Emmerdale has not suspended either actor.

It comes after earlier this year a source told The Sun that ‘there are no current plans for Charley to return as Debbie at this time However the door is always open for her,’ the source said. 

They reassured that: ‘Debbie’s daughter and her family are in the village so it’s definitely not a permanent goodbye.’

Charley’s character Debbie told Sarah, her daughter that she was just going to Scotland to meet a manager. 

However, Charley’s husband Matthew, 41, revealed on This Morning that she doesn’t want to come back to the show while Covid-19 restrictions are in place.  

According to the father-of-2, “To be truthful filming in that area at this time with Covid regulations can be difficult.”

“Everyone has rallied around and made it what is.” It’s not her desire to go back, but she should.

He stated, “I think she’ll delay until all of the restrictions have dropped,”  

Actress: The matter was then resolved and no further action was taken. The pair were then back on set last week (Isabel is pictured in 2019)
