Paddy McGuinness pays tribute to Eddie Kidd with a roadtrip and jumps through the Ring of Fire in Top Gear.
The comedian, 48, and his co-hosts – Chris Harris, 46, and Freddie Flintoff, 43 – will be seen honouring the acclaimed driver, 62, who worked on multiple James Bond movies, and was left paralysed and with brain damage after an accident in 1996.
In the first episode of the new series, due to air tomorrow night, McGuinness, 48, can be seen driving down an open road in a convertible car with Kidd in the passenger seat.
Kidd then salutes the motorbike riders as they go by the car in a procession.

Paddy McGuinness (48) celebrates Eddie Kidd, former stuntrider, by taking a road trip, and jumping through a circle of fire as part of the Top Gear series

McGuinness and Kidd can be seen riding in a convertible on an open road. This episode will air tomorrow.
McGuinness voiceovers: “It was now time to show Eddie the trail he blazed. That meant driving a bit.”
McGuinness spoke out about his meeting with his hero.
“It is nice to be able to do such things on Top Gear. You can see that we aren’t crazy or doing stupid stunts, etc.
“He trolls me quite often in the movie. He is very sharp. I did not care about what he had to say or how he treated me.

James Bond’s most famous driver was 62 years old and suffered brain damage from an automobile accident.
Flintoff shared the opinion of Flintoff that Kidd was a popular ‘benchmark for today’ among stuntmen.
Kidd reflected on Kidd’s accomplishments and said: “The bravest person is the first to accomplish all of that.”
“He does something you aren’t sure is possible and he leads the pack and opens the door for all others.
His prime was when Kidd was a famous stunt rider. In December 1979, he stunned the world when he leapt 80ft over the gap on a defunct Essex railway bridge using a 400cc Yamaha.

Kidd is greeted by a parade of motorbikes as they make their way past the car in tribute to the legendary rider.
His greatest achievements were achieved in 1993, when Kidd jumped Great Wall of China. He also beat Robbie Knievel (son of Evel Knievel) to win the stuntbike world championship.
Three years later he was involved in the accident that would change his life as his motorbike steered out of control following a 45ft leap at an event in Stratford-upon-Avon.
In addition to brain damage, the accident also left him with broken neck and pelvis.
Eddie is now unable talk and walk alone, so he requires constant care.

His peak: Mr Kidd’s prime was when he was an accomplished stunt rider. In 1981, Kidd was also the stunt double of Pierce Brosnan (1981).
It seems that Eddie is now in love with Billie, despite his turbulent marriage to Samantha Kidd. She was sentenced for five years for beating Eddie.
Samantha, who wed Eddie in 2007 before they split in 2012, plead guilty to four counts of assaulting her husband, including punching and kicking him, throttling him and calling him ‘a f****** spastic’.
In December, she was charged with domestic violence after her husband reported her to police.
Speaking shortly after her arrest, Eddie told The Sun: I loved her so much. I suppose I still do. But when she was hitting me — sometimes in front of other people — I would just be crying inside and thinkieng ‘Why? I would cry inside and think, “Why are you doing that to me?”

Tragic: He was actually involved in the 1996 accident that would transform his life. In this incident, his motorbike was steered out from control by his friend after a jump of 45 feet during an event at Stratford-upon-Avon.
“As a husband, beating your wife by the head is humiliating, and in some ways, it’s shameful. I ended up blaming myself — thinking she had taken too much on, that it was my fault she was hitting me.
‘It was so hard to ride. After all the show, the glamour, and all the fuss, it was time for me to sit in my chair, being beat by my wife, and I have no choice but to surrender.
Eddie was previously married to Hot Gossip dancer Debbie Ash and then ex-Stringfellows nightclub waitress Sarah Carr.
Eddie said that his post-accident life was not something he wanted to worry about in a past interview with The Mirror.
“Why should I feel depressed?” Before. The crash made me want to commit suicide. However, I don’t want to die now. It’s a love affair.
“I received a lot support following the crash. Elton John, who gifted a wonderful bouquet of flowers to my hospital, I’d like to say thank you. The vase is still mine if Elton John wants it back.
It was 2011 that he broke all the odds and completed the London Marathon, taking him fifty days.
He was also awarded the OBE in recognition of his charitable contributions.

Honour: The comedian will be seen honouring the acclaimed driver, who worked on multiple James Bond movies and was left paralysed and with brain damage after an accident in 1996

Paddy spoke out and told MailOnline that Eddie was an idol in his childhood. It was truly special to have the opportunity to spend time together and do all of our stunts.

Screen magic: Eddie was an actor who performed stunts for various TV shows and films.
Previously speaking about the programme to MailOnline, Paddy explained: ‘He was an idol of mine from my childhood and to spend time with Eddie and his family, and to see his face, the surprise and everything we had lined up for him, and the scale we did it on was really special.
“So we really did him justice, and I know he’ll love it when the time comes.
“It was very difficult to do that with Eddie. It was especially emotional at the final when the various stunt drivers appeared.
“He saw them again. He hadn’t seen them since years. So it was lovely.
‘The raw emotion that came out at the end, I think we were all in b***dy tears after that so it will be nice for a generation of people who probably don’t know who he is, a lot of younger people. They’ll be able to see the results.
Chris, Freddie and the funnyman took on a variety of difficult challenges as part of the BBC’s new series. One involved them sampling incredibly hot chilis while driving. Another saw Paddy gulp cool milk and then spray it over Freddie, who was sat at the back.

Paddy said: It was a very emotional time doing that with Eddie, especially at the end when all the different stunt drivers and everything came out’

Breathtaking: Paddy with his co-hosts Chris Harris (46), and Freddie Flintoff (43), watched as various stunt drivers did different tricks.

It’s amazing: In the BBC series, the driver was seen driving in a fire ring.
It was very hot, explained the TV personality. I struggle with spices anyway.
“You don’t see people driving while eating chilis on I’m A Celebrity, but I believe I’d rather have a penis with a Kangaroo than to eat another bird’s eye chili.
It was wonderful to see these two chilies go at each other as heavyweights.
I just kinda sat back, relaxed, and watched them destroy all their internal organs.
Chris commented: It was very harsh. When it comes out, it is not any better than when it came in.
“It was even hotter!”‘, exclaimed Paddy.
Chris laughed: “We were camping on the moorland that night, so we didn’t have any facilities.” There are many sheep who are clearly damaged by that.
Top Gear is on BBC One at 8pm and BBC iPlayer at 8.
