Twitter posted the footage. It shows Kennedy anxiously holding his winning lottery ticket, and waiting to hear from what seems to be lottery staff.

Kennedy, who played 24 times for Sheffield United , can be seen wearing an orange hi-vis jacket and anxiously waiting for the operator to confirm his win.

After some time, the operator of the lottery asks Kennedy whether he’s ready for the news or if it’s’sitting down.

Kennedy responds nervously: “No, I don’t believe I’m.”

Then the operator confirms that he has scooped a jackpot of £1million, whilst his co-workers cheer and shout in the background.

Kennedy can often be heard saying “Oh, my God!” and appears to get emotional at the news.

Kennedy stares up at the ceiling and covers his mouth with disbelief as he processes the seven-figure Jackpot.

One internet prankster has already made a brilliant addition to Kennedy’s Wikipedia and wrote: ‘He spent time at his home–town club as a junior before making the switch to Sheffield United.

‘He is also known for winning £1,000,000 on the national lottery in 2021 and spending it within six-weeks in Las Vegas.’

Kennedy spent over 15 years at Sheffield United and was nicknamed ‘the ginger John Terry’ by fans.

Nigel Clough highly appreciated Harry Maguire’s partnership as a young England international.

After he graduated from the Sheffield United academy, he made his Blades debut as a youngster. In 2011, he left the club to join Alfreton Town. However, he sustained recurring injuries to his knees that caused him the need for early retirement.
