You blow it! Excited mothers in-law end up covered with blue powder after making gender reveal mistakes.

  • Austin, 25, and Katie (24), hosted a Wisconsin gender reveal party
  • Mothers-in-law Jessie and Shannon accidentally fired their flares upside down
  • After the mix up, both grandparents-to be were covered in blue smoke

This is how two mother-in law misfire their smoke flares at an event for gender reveal.

Austin Schmidt, 25, & Katie Howe (24), hosted a party at their Wisconsin home to announce their baby’s gender.

Jessie, Katie’s mother and Austin’s mom, Shannon, were given small smoke cannons that they could use to start off at the crucial moment.

Austin was definitely surprised by the revelation, but not for what you might expect.

Austin and Katie poured liquid to reveal the blue colour erupting from a Pumpkin, which indicated they were having boys. Jessie and Shannon activated flares, but didn’t realize that they were holding them upsidedown.

Instead of releasing the blue smoke into air, the grandparents-to be fired the flare into both their stomachs, staining each other’s tops.

Gender reveal parties are a fun way for loved ones to announce exciting news. However, there have been a few mishaps as the trend grows in popularity.

In September 2020, a dad-to-be accidentally set off a gender reveal flare straight into his crotch – leaving one friend to joke ‘no need for that vasectomy’.

Kristen Cressotti, 36 and Tom, 43 hosted the gender reveal party at East Longmeadow’s home in Massachusetts. It turned out to be a very painful event.

The cannons were facing the wrong direction, leaving Tom’s groin to absorb the full blast. This was supposed to shoot powder from 30 feet away.
