  • Janet Mellor’s daughter Katie was left to eat on Amazon deck chairs
  • Sofology claims it was hit by new warehouse and supply chain problems

After a string of deliveries disasters, customers of Sofology furniture company owned by DFS were left with nothing to sit on.

This couch company, which calls its employees Sofologists, has had no bosses for Christmas. However they blamed the new warehouse and the supply chain problem for their blunders.

The furniture was not as good as they hoped, with some people still settling for deck chairs from Amazon to enjoy Christmas dinners.

Others complained that the company claimed their sofas arrived but they hadn’t and was then impossible to contact.

Missing seats victim Janet Mellor, from Oldham, told the BBC she was informed on three three separate occasions this month her £2,500 sofa and armchair would arrive – but never appeared.

She got rid of her own sofa to prepare for the arrival.

She said: ‘I’ve never known a company as bad. For Christmas, we decided to order two Amazon deck chairs as we’re tired of sitting on the dining room tables.

They are a complete waste of my patience. They are stealing my money.

“It takes at least one hour, sometimes up to 1.5 hours to get to speak with someone.”

Social media was deluged with a flood of complaints to Sofology over furniture no shows

Sofology received a torrent of complaints via social media about furniture not being shown.

Jon Hawkes stated that Sofology had failed to deliver the armchair for him in October, despite numerous attempts to reach them.

Sofology explained to the BBC that the issue was supply chain disruptions and the need for a new warehouse.

The company stated that there had been a “small number” of unsuccessful in-day deliveries.

“Sofology has good financial health,” the company stated.
