GB News announced today that they will play the National Anthem each morning starting tomorrow.
The tune of God Save the Queen will be played to video footage of scenery across the UK filmed at dawn, following calls from Tory MP Andrew Rosindell last week for the BBC to do so.
After the BBC discontinued the broadcasting of the song 24 years ago, the news channel will now be the sole TV news station to perform the anthem.

Radio channels such as Radio 4 continue to play the national anthem every night, but it was played before broadcasts on TV channels.
Since the 1990s, BBC One runs the BBC News Channel at night from 1am to 3am. BBC Two broadcasts repeats of the daytime programs in the early hours.

Andrew Rosindell, Romford MP, said that the public broadcaster should and other TV companies be encouraged to use the patriotic number in year of Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
At culture questions, Rosenidell (wearing a Union Jack lapel badge) asked: ‘I think the minister would agree that the singing and recitation of the national song is something that gives our nation a sense of unity.
“So will the Minister take action to incentivize public broadcasters to play and restore the National Anthem during this Queen’s Platinum Jubilee?
Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries could be heard saying ‘fantastic’ and Culture Minister Chris Philp told MPs: ‘We fully support the signing of the national anthem, Her Majesty the Queen and other expressions of patriotism – including the flying of the Union Jack.

“The better the national anthem is sung, honestly, the more we will hear it. It’s open to schools and organizations like them, who can promote it. The more we can help in this area, the better.
Gavin Esler (former Newsnight host) scoffed at the idea and tweeted, “Dear Mr Rosindell”: “Dear Mr Rosindell,”
“God Save the Queen (and The Country) From the Temptation of Parliamentarians.”
