After shooting broke out at a Panama nightclub, at least five people were killed and seven others were injured.

Video footage recorded by someone attending the Espacio Panama restaurant in Panama City last night captured the shocking moment shots were fired.

The footage was captured from the crowd and viewed from the stage at the venue. It showed people enjoying themselves and listening to music.

Shortly thereafter, the video captures a series shots. After that, everyone in the club ducks and attempts to make their way out.

The shocking moment shots were captured last night by video footage taken by someone at Espacio Panama in Panama City.

Shortly after, a series of gunshots can be heard in the video being fired

Everyone in the club starts to duck and attempt to make their way outside

Soon after, a series if gunshots can also be heard on the video. The club members begin to duck and attempt their way out.

The Santa Ana District of the city is the focus of police investigation. 

Local media reports claim that the shooting is the result of gang violence in the area.

Radio Panama reported shortly after the incident that “Preliminary Reports indicate that there are numerous deaths and injuries.” 

Taking to Twitter earlier today, the country’s Ministry of Public Security said that: ‘Two people allegedly linked to an event registered in the town of Santa Ana, were captured by police units in the Las Acacias sector. 

“A firearm was found in the vehicle in which it was being transported.”
