Harry Potter fans are eagerly-awaiting the franchise’s 20th Anniversary reunion, which will see the megastars of the movies meet up for a one-off special. 

The excitement was high when Monday’s trailer revealed the first look for HBO Max, along with teasers from many stars. 

Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are set to reunite in Return To Hogwarts on New Year’s Day.

Cheeky! Harry Potter lovers are anxiously awaiting the 20th anniversary reunion of the movie franchise. This will be a unique event that will bring together the stars from the films for an unforgettable special.

The video begins with an image at Hogwarts’ front clock. The clip then moves onto an image of The Daily Prophet, a wizarding newspaper with a headline that reads: ‘Hogwarts welcomes Back Alumni’. 

A person who seems to be Emma in Wild-haired Hermione Granger’s costume moves the paper downward to show her head. 

The teaser shows Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid. In the film, Hagrid is a loving giant who sits in an elegant London cafe where he receives his letter. This letter can easily be identified in penmanship and in paper from Hogwarts. 

The address at the front of this item reads “Robbie Coltrane,” The Coffee Shop in Chelsea.

Next to receive an invitation is Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom, as he holds his letter, looking at the Hogwarts coat of armour and looking confused. 

Mark Williams portrays Mr Weasley. Emma, a hat-clad girl, can be seen strolling down Platform 9 3/4. The teaser draws to a close. 

Last month’s news of the reunion was announced when it was revealed that the actors would meet to talk about the magical world and eight films. 

Daniel plays the title role. Rupert plays Ron Weasley Part 2. Emma and Daniel haven’t made public appearances together since July 2011, when the first premiere of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 was held.

For the WarnerMedia retrospective special, castmembers of all Harry Potter films will reunite for the reunion. It is scheduled to debut on WarnerMedia’s streaming service on New Year’s Day (2022).

HBO Max, where the entire franchise’s films could be streamed, stated that the project would ‘tell an enchanting story through in-depth interviews with cast members and cast discussions’.

Casey Patterson whose production company is producing the special gushed over the cast as she said: ‘There’s magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago.

“The thrill is palpable, as they get ready to take their fans on an unforgettable journey through the making these amazing films.

The President of Warner Bros. spoke out about the special. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics Tom Ascheim said: ‘It has been an incredible journey since the debut of the ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ film… 

“The miracle of how the universe evolved to become this interconnected, amazing world has been awe-inspiring. This is an ode to all those whose lives have been influenced by this cultural phenomenon.

The special will air later on TBS and Cartoon Network, in spring 2022, before Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’s theatrical release.

The special will be shown for the first time during the premier of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses, a quiz show that airs on Sunday November 28th at 8 p.m. ET. Helen Mirren hosts the program.
