Gloria Williams (35), Kendrick’s mom, was charged last week with injury to child by omission, tampering evidence, and human corpse. Last week, her bond was increased to $1.5million by a judge after she deemed the $900,000.000 amount ‘insufficient’.
After Williams’ oldest son called 911 for assistance, Kendrick’s remains decomposing were found in a filthy apartment of the CityParc II complex.

The footage shows them, both dressed in black, approaching a librarian to start a conversation. Williams can be seen smiling at her boyfriend.
According to reports, Williams and Coulter visited the library in order to search for news articles about Kendrick’s case and those of his brothers who are still alive.

During Williams’ bond hearing last week, prosecutors revealed new information about the disturbing case, including that Williams was received payments from the government to help care for three of her children, including Kendrick, totaling $2,000 a month, reported KTRK.
According to prosecutors she was still receiving financial support even after Kendrick’s November 2020 death. This she hadn’t reported to authorities.
According to prosecutors, Williams received the money she needed in order to rent two apartments. This included one that Coulter and Williams had shared since March.
The couple had their apartment searched and found it fully furnished. This was in contrast to the CityParc II unit 15 minutes away where Williams’ brothers lived alongside the body of his brother. It was also bare and crawling full of cockroaches.
They claimed that Kendrick’s remains were in their bedroom, while Williams and Coulter still lived there.
Williams was alleged to have had grocery deliveries to his apartment every other month, and he also paid rent to keep Kendrick from finding out about him.
Williams, during an interview in jail with KHOU11, said she was sorry but did not know Kendrick was deceased. However, according to a probable reason statement read in court, Williams claimed that the mother had admitted to investigators she was aware of Kendrick’s death but that it was too scary to inform the police.
Kendrick’s corpse was left in an infested room, under a blanket, with his brothers watching, for close to one year. Williams, Coulter, and the children moved to another apartment.
Williams responded to a question about why she had abandoned her sons, one of which was severely injured by Coulter’s punch in the head.
After Williams’ 15 year-old son dialed 911, sheriff’s deputys saved the children. The three children were all described as being malnourished having had to eat for several months, thanks to food donated by concerned neighbours and snacks provided by Williams’ mother.
According to authorities, Coulter was accused of punching and kicking Kendrick to death on Thanksgiving Day 2013. Williams did not report the incident to police and claimed that she was scared for her children and would wind up in prison.
During Williams’ previous court appearance, a prosecutor read aloud a statement of probable cause, which revealed that three of the mother’s surviving children witnessed their brother’s fatal beating.
Children claimed that Coulter hit the eight-year old with closed fists, kicked him in the face, legs, and buttocks.

Kendrick Lee (pictured above, wearing a T-shirt with a vivid color) was shot dead in November 2020. His body was left in an apartment where he and his brothers could decompose for one year.
Deputies were told by Williams’ seven-year old son that Coulter was continuing to kick Kendrick who lay on the ground and was not moving while looking at his younger brother, who was also in the room.
According to the prosecution, Kendrick became completely blind and his eyes darkened. Coulter then covered him in a blanket of blue.
Williams, who had entered her bedroom to examine her son’s health and found him dead in his bed, began fighting Coulter and started crying.
Investigators were told by her 15-year old son that he thought his mother would contact the police to report Coulter’s death, but she ‘never did’. The mother then left the apartment and moved in with her brother, who was rotting. She also didn’t have any supervision for her children.
William’s 10-year old son claimed that Williams arrived at the apartment late in the evening and took the blanket off Kendrick. He said that Williams found that Kendrick’s body, feet and teeth had morphed into a skeleton and that his hair was missing. The cockroaches were said to have covered his corpse.
He also said that Coulter would beat his 10-year-old brother, hitting him in the stomach, face and buttocks, then breaking his jaw last month.
On October 24, police found the child’s jaw swelling when they arrived at the home. The boy told police that his mother was aware of the injuries but didn’t seek medical help for him.
The authorities stated that the 10 year-old would need to have surgery in order to fix his facial fracture.
Williams was in court last Wednesday and her bond was increased to $1.5million
Williams stated that Coulter had attacked her son Kendrick when she went into the bedroom in the Thanksgiving 2020 period.
Williams said that Kendrick died the day after she discovered that. She confronted her boyfriend and he’stated it was sorry’. Williams continued to punch him until he went back to sleep.
Williams told investigators she believed her son had died a year before she went to police. However, she didn’t go because Coulter told her to and because she was afraid her children might be taken from her and sent to prison.
The children lived in deplorable conditions for months as they waited for their mother to call authorities to report that their brother had been beaten to death and left to rot. Investigators claim that the mother did not make the call. The oldest son, who is now 15, finally overcome his fear and called the authorities on Sunday.
