Undocumented immigrant, who sexually assaulted and raped two women in Bournemouth Beach while his buddies laughed was sentenced to 18-months imprisonment
Kuku Machhal, 31, of Southall, west London, groped the women in the sea in two separate incidents on July 23 last year, Portsmouth Crown Court heard.
An attack took place at Bournemouth Beach in front of Machhal’s friends. They could be heard laughing and cheering about the incident.
Judge David Melville QC described Machhal’s behavior as “intimidating” and “degrading”, adding that both victims were just as vulnerable underwater as they were on the surface.
He took these actions just days after the rape of a teenage girl in the ocean near Bournemouth Pier.
Kuku Machhal, 31, from Southall (west London), groped two women at sea on July 23, 2013, Portsmouth Crown Court heard.
That incident saw the teenager suspect drag the girl deeper into the water, away from her friends and then rape her.
In Machhal’s case, the court heard that both victims reported what had happened to them to authorities and seafront security staff located the suspect and stopped him from leaving until police arrived.
Machhal was illegally brought in from India’s Punjab in 2015. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced for 18 months.
Prosecuting said that Machhal touched the first victim in a police interview but stated there was a strong current that brushed him into her.
Machhal had never been convicted before and also denies any wrongdoing in relation to the second woman.
He originally denied the allegations, but he changed his plea at an earlier court hearing to guilty.
Lesley Manley, the defense, stated that Machhal regretted his actions to the court, but it was not accepted by the judge.

Machhal was illegally brought to the UK in 2015 from India’s Punjab state. He was sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court to 18 months imprisonment (pictured).
Ms Manley explained that Machhal was there without any intention of doing harm. However, his actions were not typical.
“This behaviour has not been witnessed before. It is highly unlikely that it will ever happen again.
Machhal is being deported because his wife and children, who are supported in India by their sister, are there. Machhal has lived in Southall the past six year.
Ms Manley stated that he still owes the people who assisted him in getting documentation to enter India and was concerned for his safety if he returned to India.
Elle added that “he faces deportation.” He has received a notice and is looking for legal counsel in regards to his immigration situation.
Judge Melville called Machhal’s actions ‘disgraceful’, and said that he showed no remorse.
He stated, “There was a certain amount of planning. You did have your friends along with you.”
“I don’t accept that you feel remorseful.” ‘You did not accept any personal responsibility when you were interviewed.
Machhal was sentenced for 18 months imprisonment. Register of sex offences for five years.
