After last year’s cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic (and the safety precautions it entails), the LACMA Art+Film Gala reopened on Saturday.

The gala this year honored Amy Sherald, Kehinde Wiley and Academy Award-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

Miley Cyrus was among those in attendance, as well as Eva Longoria and Elle Fanning, and honoree Spielberg with his wife Kate Capshaw.

Gucci has returned as the sponsor for this year, continuing its relationship with Los Angeles’ beloved art museum. The luxury brand is celebrating its 100th year anniversary.

Audi supported the event as well.

LACMA states that all proceeds from the gala go towards funding LACMA’s efforts to place film centrally in its curatorial programming and LACMA’s wider mission.

It includes “exhibitions, acquisitions and educational programming” as well as screenings that investigate the interplay of film and art.

The Art+Film Gala, which was established in 1999, has been a tribute to directors Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese and Stanley Kubrick.
