Harpo was adopted from the Oregon Humane Society as a Christmas present in 2008, alongside his brother Groucho.

Due to their different personalities, they were named after Marx Brothers.

Harpo was completely silent for the first year of his life, whereas Groucho was smart, loud and extroverted.

Harpo began stealing fridge magnets from his parents when he was two years old. This is when he started to vocalize regularly.

Rain never saw him steal, even though he took all of his prized to Rain, meowing proudly.

Rain began training Harpo when he was eleven to make sure he didn’t steal her things.

Rain said, ‘A great example of Harpo’s training was how I got him stop putting teethmarks in my comics. This involved putting a sheet paper inside each magazine holder, rewarding him if he brought them, then telling him no, and not ignoring him when the comics arrived.

Harpo received a diagnosis of cancer but was already stealing once more before his stitches were even out.

The final clip, named the 'heist', sees Harpo bring all of his magnets and toys to owner Rain while meowing proudly

Rain said: ‘Once he got better, I started putting his fridge magnets on any surface they would stick to and putting plush animals all over the place.

“The magnetic clip playing cards are jokers and knaves. He is all those things.

“Before too long, he would steal almost everything I gave him. He has since overcome his shyness about getting caught in the act.

“So, I began having him bring me vaccination flyers and masks so that we could make PSAs.

“My intention was simply to bring people laughter and make them aware of the need for pet owners to plan ahead in case their beloved pets get sick.”
