Man, 39, is arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after woman in her 40s was critically injured ‘when she was run down by a black Audi in a hit-and-run’

  • The black Audi A4 was believed to be involved in the incident, but it did not stop at the scene. It was then stopped in the Northamptonshire region. 










After a woman in her 40s was seriously injured in a hit and run in Bournemouth, a man was arrested on suspicion for attempted murder.

After being struck by the vehicle on Friday at 1.35pm, the victim, a pedestrian was taken to hospital.

An investigation to determine the full circumstances of this incident is ongoing. A 39-year-old man is being held under suspicion of attempted Murder.

A 41-year old woman was also taken into custody by the Dorset Police Major Crime Investigation Team, (MCIT), for allegedly aiding an offender.

They both assist detectives with their inquiries.

According to police, the vehicle drove off in the direction Clarendon Road after failing to stop at Suffolk Road.

A police cordon was established at the scene of an alleged hit and run incident on Friday, Suffolk Road, Bournemouth.

Police believe the black Audi A4 was involved. It was then located and stopped in Northamptonshire in the early hours Sunday morning.  

Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour of MCIT stated that an investigation was underway to determine exactly what happened. He also asked for any witnesses to come forward.

“I would also like to ask motorists who were driving in the area, to check their dashcams and find any footage that may be helpful in the investigation.
