Girl, 15, is stabbed in the stomach ‘by teenage boys in case of mistaken identity’ while walking down street in Bolton










After ‘two males approached her in Bolton Street, a 15-year-old girl was stabbed in her stomach.

Police were called to the scene of the ‘incredibly scary’ incident at Chorley New Road in Horwich on Friday at 11.50pm.

Two males approached the young victim, believed to be in their late teens, before stabbing him in the stomach.

Detectives believe that the girl was not the intended victim. She was discharged from the hospital after being treated for minor injuries. No arrests were made.

Police are now asking for information in relation to the attack.

Detective Inspector Andy Wright, GMP’s Bolton area said that it was an extremely frightening ordeal for the young lady. She only suffered minor injuries but it could have been worse.

“We have been following all avenues of inquiry to establish the full circumstances. We are currently treating this incident as an isolated incident. However, we don’t believe that the victim was the intended victim.

“Detectives continue to investigate to ensure that we identify the males involved and bring them to justice. I urge anyone who was in the area and has any information to come forward to help police.”
