One man is in jail after injecting a drink to a pubgoer with viagra and sleeping pills’so that he could assault him sexually’.
Eamon Kelly, 58, had been awkwardly smiling at his victim, a man in his 30s, from across the table before dropping the drugs into his drink ‘to see what would happen’.
They didn’t even know each other but they had shared a table at a pub in Ealing West London on the 29th of August.
The victim was able to see the tablet at the bottom of the glass, even though they were not completely dissolved.
Kelly smiled in a strange way when confronted with the young man and didn’t say a single word.
Eamon, 58, was found to have slipped Viagra and a sleep pill into the drinks of a man in Ealing Broadway with the intention of sexually assaulting him.
The staff at the Broadway bar initially requested that the victim leave after he was confronted by Kelly.
After Kelly explained his situation, the two reviewed CCTV footage from the location, which revealed Kelly taking an object out of his jacket pocket on the left.
Kelly was then arrested by police for administering the noxious substances.
Police searched his left arm and found a small vial that contained what appeared to have been crushed tablets in it.
Kelly said that he crushed the pills years ago, and had since put them away.
He stated that he had found the pills (a sleeping pill and viagra) the day before and was curious to know what the consequences would be if they were put in a drink.
Kelly of Bramber Court in Ealing pleaded guilty to administering a drug with intent to induce stupefaction to permit sexual gain at Willesden Magistrates Court.
Harrow Crown Court sentenced him to two years, four months of imprisonment.
Kelly was convicted of administering a drug with the intent to induce stupefy in order to facilitate sexual gain. Kelly was sentenced to two-years and four months in Harrow Crown Court. He will also be included on the Sex Offenders Register, which is for a period of 10 years.
For a period of 10 years, he will be included in the Sex Offenders Register.
DC Benazir Bhati claimed that Kelly went to the pub in the evening intending to drug someone so he can sexually assault them.
The victim was alert and saw the tablets. Staff were informed and officers quickly arrived at the location to take the suspect into custody and to conduct the time-critical investigations.
“We take allegations about spiking seriously. We will aggressively prosecute those responsible for this terrible crime.
“We encourage anyone who sees anything unusual or suspects they might have been spiked to inform the bar staff and/or police immediately.
“We also advise people to not put any substance (including alcohol) into another person’s beverage without their consent. This could result in you being charged with a crime.
