In three easy steps, the celebrity hairdresser that styled Meghan Markle’s Invictus Games locks revealed how she recreated her signature “luxe undone” waves.

George Northwood of London has his own salon and went to the Netherlands for the weekend with the Duchess.

This hairdresser also has clients such as Alexa Chung and Rosie Huntington Whiteley. Alicia Vikander was a frequent member of Team Sussex during Harry’s 37-year-old marriage to Meghan. She was trusted with the locks for Meghan’s wedding day.

Luxe locks: George Northwood (who has a salon named after him in London) flew out to the Netherlands for the weekend, where he created this look.

He made at least five different hairstyles for Meghan during the three-day event.

British Vogue spoke with him about how he made the polished waves she wore on Sunday.

‘It’s key to create a good foundation in the hair, so instead of a rough blow dry, blow hair out smoothly,’ he said. ‘If you’re going for a centre parting, blow dry the front of the hair forward – this creates a sweeping motion when you part it afterwards.’

Next, use a large barrel tong to work around the head.

Classic: The hairdresser also gave the Duchess a low bun for the Invictus Games opening ceremony on the Saturday night (above). The style is one Meghan wore on several occasions while carrying out engagements as a working member of the royal family

‘THe said, “Avoid the eyes at the top of your hair and concentrate on the middle lengths of your hair. This will encourage curls and more wave.”

‘Once you’ve taken the tong out of each section, pull hair straight so it cools in a softer bend. You can then brush your hair with your fingers, or a paddle brush.

It is important to choose a high-quality product with a glossy, luxurious finish.

Northwood was last seen with the Duchess at her final royal engagements, March 2020. They thought they’d be meeting at the Invictus Game the month after that.

Due to the pandemic, the couple were not able to reunite until last week’s long-delayed event.

Meghan was joined also by Daniel Martin (her favorite makeup artist), who flew from the US.

Martin was a friend and longtime collaborator of the Duchess. He also performed her wedding makeup.

Posting on Instagram after the Invictus Games, Northwood wrote: ‘Two years and one pandemic later; It’s great to be finally reunited with Harry and Meghan.’
