The suspect reportedly admitted to his murder to the police following his arrest.
According to news website GRTimes.gr he allegedly said that he had committed this terrible crime because his mother had set fire to his food.
This alleged murder was discovered when Grevena’s owner of a funeral house in Grevena asked the 59 year-old for permission to perform the funeral for his mother.
According to him, he discovered her body in her bed and asked that the funeral director immediately take care of the arrangements. The director was suspicious and informed the authorities.
