Meredith Kercher, the killer sentenced to death in Italy for the murder of the British student is about to be executed 14 years later.
Rudy Guede is set to be freed on January 4. However, his lawyer stated today that there was a good chance that Rudy Guede could get another 45-days off of his 16-year sentence.
Fabrizio Balarini stated to The Times, “If he gets this, he’s already a freeman.”
Guede, the Briton’s American friend Amanda Knox and Raffaele Solecito had been cleared of the murder of Kercher (21 years old) in Perugia on November 7, 2007.
Guede, an Ivorian citizen of Ivory was found guilty by Kercher after his DNA was discovered on Kercher’s corpse despite the fact that Kercher claimed that Guede was listening to music in his bathroom when she was shot and killed.

Kercher from Coulsdon (Surrey) was shot and killed two months after he moved to Italy in order to study at the prestigious university of Perugia.

Guede has been considered a great prisoner. He is currently on probation outside Viterbo, and was released last year for his good behavior.
Ballarini is currently studying at Roma Tre University for his master’s degree in historical sciences. He has spoken to judges about his “high level of social integration” and “irreproachable behavior.”
Guede received his first day’s release from Viterbo prison on January 17, 2017. He began working at the Centre for Crime, Judicial and Sociological Studies as a librarian and researcher.
The appeal was denied, but he has been supported by local activists and is now able to integrate.
Guede set up even a chess tournament in Viterbo.
Kercher from Coulsdon (Surrey) was shot and killed two months following his move to Italy as part of a study abroad program at Perugia’s prestigious university.
She was partially naked and had multiple stab wounds. Her body was found in her bedroom. Her body was also found in her bedroom, partially undressed with multiple stab wounds.
Guede’s fingerprints and a bloody palm print were discovered at the scene.
While he acknowledged being at the apartment, Kercher has denied ever having been killed or sexually assaulted.

Both Knox and Sollecito spent four years behind bars after being convicted. Knox was also found guilty of defamation after wrongly accusing Patrick Lumumba (a bar owner) of the murder. Knox and Sollecito at the 2007 International Bar Association Awards

After finding her body dead in the toilet, he claimed he went into shock.
Guede fled to Germany by train after the crime and was captured days later.
The charges against him included murder and sexual assault. He received a sentence of 30-years imprisonment, but it was reduced to 16-years by an appeals court.

Lumumba was held in prison for two weeks, and only when an alibi came along Lumumba was released.
Knox and Sollecito, who were both acquitted in 2011, were found not guilty by an appeals court in Florentine.
The Appeal Court ruled Kercher could not have sustained the injuries by Guede.
The 2015 final ruling by Italy’s Supreme Court overturned this decision. It stated that Knox’s and Sollecitos convictions resulted from’stunning faults’ during the investigation.
