“I found myself stuck in a rut, and I barely cooked. It was much easier to eat takeaways – I would spend around £170 per week on food.
‘I would buy £75 worth of junk from the supermarket, £30 on a Chinese takeaway, £20 on pizza, £25 on an Indian, £20 on KFC and £25 on McDonald’s.
It would include large portions of rice, chow-mien, chicken balls (salt and pepper chicken), sweet and sour chicken and large rice.

Kayleigh decided to have a gastric bypass because she believed that surgery was the best way to lose weight permanently.
The gastric bypass procedure involves using staples to form a small pouch in the stomach. Once the pouch has been created, it is connected to small intestine. This bypasses all of the stomach.
It takes less food for you to feel satisfied and your body absorbs fewer calories from what you eat.
Kayleigh, after extensive research, decided to have her procedure at Irme International Hospital (Turkey) in October 2020. She estimated it was £10,000 cheaper than having the procedure in the UK.

“I saved money for this surgery, and I can see the benefits. It’s amazing. I find it strange that this has happened in one year. It’s still hard to believe that my reflection is actually me.
“My BMI has improved from being morbidly obese to a healthy one.” When I’m walking up the stairs, my breath is not as short and my joints don’t ache anymore.
