New 70-foot “hyperboat” concept claims it can ‘fly above the water. It has retractable wings, and spaceship-like interiors.
The Persico F70, a vessel which designers say will float above the waves with only a small crew, is being developed by Italian yacht builders Persico Marine in collaboration with Carkeek Design Partners and Pininfarina Nautical.
The carbon composite yacht was designed to be sleek and aerodynamic, which is conducive for breakneck cruising.

Persico Marine asserts that the Persico F70 yacht “outperforms 100 footers” and can fly at only 10 knots, but did not give exact speeds
Italian yacht builders Persico Marine are developing the PersicoF70 vessel, which is said to float high above the seas with only a small crew.
Persico F70 is also said to be a foiling yacht that was ‘designed solely for speed’. However, it ‘combines high-performance with luxurious interiors’ so you can use it for racing or leisure daysailing.

The retractable wings are not the only feature. It also boasts a rudder blade with an elevator that allows it to glide smoothly across the surface of the water.

Marcello Persico, president of Persico Marine, said: ‘Integrating full-foiling regatta performance, excellence in design and daysailer features is a fascinating challenge, which we have shared with Carkeek Design Partners and Pininfarina.
“Creating a strong team is the most effective way to get a boat that can make history,” is what the Persico F70 Project is promising to do.
“A craft of such complexity requires high-quality design and great construction technology. We have forged a strong partnership in order to achieve this goal.
