Marc Marquez was a MotoGP driver and suffered an horrific accident during warm up for the Indonesian Grand Prix.

Eight-time World Champion was taken by ambulance to hospital after suffering a severe concussion from a high-side sustained during the 20 minute session at around 110mph.

Marquez was launched by his Honda from the Turn 7 right-hander during the final moments of the Mandalika International Street Circuit session. 

Both bike and rider flew through the air. The Spaniard did somersaulting on top of his bike before landing heavy on his arm. 

Marquez was about 15 feet high when he somersaultied before falling onto the track.

He was sent sliding down the track and then rolling over it before he finally came to a halt.

Gavin Emmett, BT Sport’s commentator said that Marc Marquez was in a shock crash after replays had been shown. This is one of my favorite high-sides in covering the sport for 25 years.

“He had to have been between 12 and 15 feet high, Repsol Honda man.”

The bike was thrown away and the mechanics were left in shock.

Amazingly, he managed to walk, though gingerly. He stumbled off, looking confused and disoriented.

Finally, he was met by medical personnel. They drove him back into the paddock and then took him to the hospital. 

Marquez's nasty high speed crash was the fourth time that he has crashed over the weekend

Marquez was involved in a nasty, high-speed crash that occurred on Saturday for the fourth consecutive time.

After suffering from a concussion, he was admitted to the hospital. MotoGP confirmed that he was medically ineligible for racing.

Doctor Angel Charte declared that Marc was fine. In the warm up, he had an intense crash that caused a head injury. He was initially seen here, and we referred him to Lombok’s hospital. 

“He was subject to several radiological screenings, all of which came back negative. The team and rider agreed to this decision. Due to the need for observation of 12 to 24 hours in order to diagnose such pathology, the MotoGP medical team has declared him unfit.

It has been a tough weekend for Marquez who suffered two front-end crashes in Saturday's qualifying session

Marquez has had an extremely difficult weekend. He was involved in two front-end accidents during Saturday’s qualifier.

Marquez was unable to make it through the qualifying session in Indonesia due to two crashes at the front.

Michelin brought an extra stiffer tire casing to deal with Mandalika’s extreme temperature. This is after the company had problems during the 2018 preseason testing in Indonesia for its 2022 tyre design.

Many riders report grip issues with their rears due to the rigider casing.

The lack of rear grip for the Honda has been evident throughout the Indonesia weekend as Marquez suffered numerous rear-end moments through the sessions – including in warm-up before his massive crash. 

Marquez broke his right arm in a fall and injured the humerus of his right arm. He has been the winner of six senior MotoGP World Championships.
