Prince Harry and Prince William unveiled a statue in Kensington Palace’s gardens in memory of their mother on July 1st.
The statue, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicts Diana during her later years. It aims at reflecting her warmth, elegance, energy and confidence, according to the sculptor.
Earl Spencer and Diana’s sisters Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, were among a few guests invited at the unveiling of Diana’s statue on what would have been the princess’s 60th Birthday.
Although media and the public were not allowed to enter, there were crowds at Kensington Gardens, where the late Princess liked to jog or rollerskate and they wanted to feel a part of the day.
